This policy explains what personal information Positive Salary Packaging Pty Ltd (ABN 71 643 583 171) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. It also lists the financiers we arrange leases with. “Positive”, “we” and “us” mean Positive Salary Packaging Pty Ltd.

It covers this website, our government employee websites, and everything you do with us by phone, email, chat or in person. We’re bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

The short version

  • We collect what we need to quote, set up and run your novated lease or salary packaging.
  • We only share it with the people who make that work, such as your employer, the financier, insurers, maintenance providers and the card issuer, plus the service providers who help us run the business.
  • Your lease finance comes from a financier, not from us. The financiers we use are listed under “Who provides your finance”.
  • We store your records in Australia. Some of our service providers process information overseas.
  • We don’t sell your personal information.
  • You can see or correct what we hold about you, and stop marketing messages, whenever you like.

What we collect

We collect the personal information we need to quote, set up and run your novated lease or salary packaging. Depending on what you do with us, that can include:

  • contact and identity details, such as your name, contact details, date of birth and address
  • employment and pay details, such as your employer, salary and pay cycle
  • financial details and identification documents that financiers and insurers need to assess an application, such as your driver licence
  • car and lease details, including running costs, insurance and transactions on your Positive Salary Packaging Visa card
  • bank details for reimbursements
  • records of our conversations, including call recordings, emails and chat transcripts
  • how you use our website, including the ad or link that brought you here. More on that under “Our website, cookies and advertising”.

If you’re an employer contact, we collect your work contact details and your organisation’s setup details. If someone refers you to us, we collect the details they shared.

We don’t ask for sensitive information, such as health information, unless it’s needed for something you’ve asked us to help with. If it is, we’ll ask for your consent first.

We only collect a government identifier, such as a driver licence or tax file number, where a finance or insurance application needs it or the law requires it. We never use one as our own way of identifying you.

How we collect it

Mostly from you, through our forms, phone calls, emails, chat and client portal. Sometimes we get it from someone else:

  • your employer, for payroll and eligibility details
  • the financier, for your approval and lease details
  • the card issuer, for your card transactions
  • car dealers, for vehicle and delivery details
  • someone who referred you, or a partner who introduced you
  • our analytics and advertising tools, for how you found and used our website

If someone else gives us your details, we’ll tell you when we first contact you.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

  • give you quotes and answer your questions
  • arrange your novated lease, including your finance application and buying the car
  • set up and run your salary packaging with your employer: deductions, budgets, card transactions and reimbursements
  • support you during your lease and at the end of it
  • confirm your identity and protect you and us from fraud
  • meet our legal obligations, including tax and record keeping
  • improve our service, website and training
  • tell you about our products and services, unless you’ve opted out

We only use it for something else if you’d reasonably expect us to, you’ve agreed, or the law allows or requires it.

If you don’t give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to quote, arrange finance or run your packaging.

Who we share it with

We only share your information to set up and run your lease or salary packaging, to run our business, to measure our advertising, or where the law requires it. That means:

  • Your employer, to set up salary packaging and payroll deductions
  • Financiers, to assess your application and provide your lease. They’re listed in the next section.
  • National Australia Bank, which issues the Positive Salary Packaging Visa card
  • Car dealers and manufacturers, to source and deliver your car
  • Insurers, maintenance providers and other suppliers you use through your lease
  • Our service providers, for IT, customer records, email and SMS, chat, mail, gift cards for our referral program, and professional advice
  • Google and Meta, which receive a scrambled (hashed) copy of some contact details so we can measure our advertising. More on that below.
  • Anyone you authorise to deal with us for you
  • Regulators, courts and others where the law requires or allows it

Financiers run their own credit checks and handle your credit information under their own credit reporting policies, which they’ll give you when you apply.

We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we never share it with other businesses for their own marketing.

Who provides your finance

We arrange your novated lease, but we don’t lend the money. Your lease is provided by a financier, and your lease documents name it. Your financier handles your information under its own privacy and credit reporting policies.

We currently arrange new leases with:

FinancierABN
Angle Auto Finance Pty Ltd16 161 130 696
Liberty Novated Leasing Pty Ltd87 676 321 887
Metro Finance Pty Ltd44 600 674 093
Pepper Asset Finance Pty Ltd56 165 183 317

Some older leases are with other financiers. If you’re not sure who yours is, check your lease documents or ask us.

Your Positive Salary Packaging Visa card is issued by National Australia Bank Limited ABN 12 004 044 937, AFSL and Australian Credit Licence 230686.

How we’re paid. We charge the fees set out in your agreement. Financiers also pay us for arranging your finance. Ask us and we’ll explain how that works for your lease.

Overseas

We store your customer records in Australia. Some of our service providers process information outside Australia: our website analytics and advertising providers in the United States, and our chat provider in the Philippines.

We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas providers handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Our website, cookies and advertising

We use cookies and similar tools, including pixels from Google and Meta, to make the site work, understand how people use it, and see which of our ads lead to enquiries.

In practice:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager measure how people use the site.
  • Google Ads and Meta pixels record when someone who clicked one of our ads makes an enquiry. We store the ad’s click ID with your enquiry.
  • When you enquire or become a customer, we send Google and Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address or phone number with that click ID, so their systems learn which ads lead to real customers. Hashed details can only be matched to people already on their platforms. They don’t receive your details in readable form.
  • We may also use hashed customer lists to decide who sees our ads, for example so existing customers don’t keep seeing ads for something they already have. Tell us if you’d rather we left you out.
  • We don’t send what you type into our forms or calculator, or any sensitive information, to Google or Meta through these tools.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad personalisation in your Google and Meta account settings. The site still works if you do, though some features may not.

Chat and automated tools

Our website chat is run by Chat2, a chat service provider. Chat2’s team answers chats for us using information we give them, and may use AI tools to help. CONFIRM with Chat2 If they can’t help, they pass your chat and contact details to our team. We keep a copy of the transcript with your enquiry.

We also use automated tools to sort enquiries: sending yours to the right team, and working out which enquiries to call first. These affect who contacts you and when. They don’t decide whether you can get a lease. Finance decisions are made by the financier, and everything else by our team.

Marketing

We may send you information about our products and services by email, SMS or phone. Every email and SMS has a way to unsubscribe. We’ll keep sending messages about your lease or packaging account, because those aren’t marketing.

If your number is on the Do Not Call Register, we’ll only call you about our products if you’ve agreed to it.

Staying anonymous

You can browse the site and ask general questions without telling us who you are. To quote or set anything up, we need to know.

Keeping it secure

We keep your information in secure systems, and only people who need it can see it. Our information security management system is certified to ISO/IEC 27001.

If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the reasons above and to meet our record-keeping obligations, generally seven years after your lease or packaging ends. Then we securely destroy it or remove anything that identifies you.

Seeing and correcting your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to fix anything that’s wrong. Use the contact details below. We’ll respond within 30 days, and there’s no charge to ask.

If we can’t give you access or make a correction, we’ll tell you why in writing and how to complain.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with our service, or think we’ve mishandled your personal information, tell us using the details below. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within one business day and give you our response within 7 days.

If your complaint is about your finance, such as an approval decision or your repayments, contact your financier too. Its own complaints process applies, and we can help you raise it.
